Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information Mooremiles Couriers collects through this website, why we collect it, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Mooremiles Couriers is a small van courier business operating across the UK, and is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact us at hello@mooremiles.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use our quote form we collect the details you choose to give us:
- Your name, email address and (optionally) phone number
- The service you are interested in, the collection and delivery addresses, the date, and a description of what you are sending
- Any extra notes and your preferred time for a call back
As you type a town or postcode into the quick quote box, we look up suggestions through our own server from the open postcodes.io service. Only the text you type is sent, never your name or contact details, and your IP address is not passed on.
When you ask the quick quote for a price, we send the two places you entered and the collection time to our own server, which works out the price and, where needed, the road distance using the open OSRM routing service (only map coordinates are passed on, never your name or contact details). Nothing from the quick quote is stored against you unless you go on to send the full form.
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this notice.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the service providers who help us run the website and handle the form (our web host and form-handling provider, and our email provider). They act on our instructions and only process your data for those purposes. We may also share information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that do not lead to a job are deleted after 12 months. If you become a customer, we keep the records of the job for as long as the law requires for accounting purposes (currently six years).
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time (this will not affect anything we did before). To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mooremiles.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Data sources
Place and postcode suggestions use postcodes.io. The Congestion Charge zone and Greater London boundaries contain data from Transport for London and the Greater London Authority, used under the Open Government Licence v2.0.

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and the date at the top.
